I have never had a chance to share as boldly and openly about Christ with as large a group of Japanese as I did today. Our new friend, (and brother in Christ) Ron enabled us to come to all of his classes today to meet his students. He asked us to share with his class about why we came to Japan and gave us the freedom to share whatever we wanted to about the Lord.
Literally all six of us all shared slices of our personal testimony and different elements of the gospel multiple times. We ended up sharing with almost 90 students altogether. On top of that we have four of those students showed significant interest in wanting to hear more and gave us their contact information.
Please pray that these opportunities would materialize and that the Lord would open their hearts!
We also discovered that Ron actually became a Christian at Estes Park, Colorado – the place where our church is sending students for Leadership Training! There were lots of neat little “God connections” today.
I feel so thankful for the team we have here. Every person clearly had unique little niche in the day and in connecting with students in a personal way.

This morning I took a prayer walk and also spent some time meditating on Psalm 46. The verse that stood out to me was verse 4, which says of the City fo God, “the Holy habitation of the Most High.” Since we are praying to be able to start fellowships in Japan I have been thinking a lot about the power of even two or three Christians coming together and the truth of the Lord’s presence in such gatherings. (Mt. 18:20) So to refer to a gathering of believers as the “holy habitation of the Most High,” is an accurate way of describing it. Later in the Psalm we are also told that “God is in the midst of her and she shall not be moved.” Anyway, with all of that in mind, I learned today that the city we are staying in is made up of three characters. The meaning of each character is: “God/Protects/City,” rendering the meaning, “God protects this city.”
May the Lord indeed further “habitate” this city as believers gather in His name.
