The very night that I posted the blog entitled “Making Record,” the earthquake hit. A mixture of very powerful emotions flood over every time I hear the details of how the people of Japan have been affected.
I fully believe that the gospel provides the greatest hope that we have to offer the world, and I am praying more than anything that the Lord uses these events to provide wide open doors for His Word in Japan. I also know that there are incredible physical needs right now and we want to help in meeting those where we can as well.
With these things in mind, there are two major questions we are needing to answer right now in regards to the trip.
1. Should we consider doing at least a little relief work alongside of our plans to do evangelism and discipleship in and around university communities in Tokyo?
2. This is more specific to our family, but we are wondering…should Danielle and Mattie (who will be exactly a year old at that point) still consider going? It seems like most of the health risks related to going to Japan right now involve infants.
Please pray for the Lord to lead us in these things. We are also working on finalizing the budget this week and will then begin raising the necessary funds. This will also be an ongoing need as we move towards the actual trip.
Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
in Christ,
david
