I look forward to sharing some stories with you in our next prayer letter of people who’s hearts seem to be softening to the Word of God. However, the most common response we get when we ask people if they want Jesus to bring them back to God is, “Ie Kekodes,”….a polite way of saying, “no thank you.” I have even had two people laugh at me as I either shared the gospel or mentioned that I believed God was involved in the alignment of circumstances.

None of this was new to me, but it is still challenging every time we share the gospel and receive this response. We shared with one of our language partners on Monday who responded in this manner, and I just left him with, “PLEASE consider that what we shared may even potentially be true.”
One thought that has continually given me hope in recent days (Other than the fact that God promises a multitude of Japanese before His throne in heaven!) is that I completely the rejected the gospel probably a dozen times before I believed. Please pray for God to give us perseverence in sharing His Word.
