Yesterday was an incredible day of ministry. Thank you so much for the prayers. Eight Japanese students heard a clear gospel presentation and 11 others at least a good slice of the testimony of how I came to Christ. As always, it was also a great experience working alongside of the Wilson family.
Several of these students were visiting for the second or third time to the Wilson’s Bible study, so that was a huge praise in-and-of itself and shows a lot of spiritual interest. Please pray for good follow-up with each of these students!
There were a few hang-ups to do the day, of course. The journey to the university, which should’ve been 1 1/2 hours, turned into 3 when we took the wrong bus! Just another reason to buckle down and work on learning Japanese even harder…
There were multiple times yesterday where I had the distinct feeling, “THIS is why we came to Japan!”
Another incredible highlight was seeing a student that we met and reached out to last summer come to the Bible study. Many of you prayed for her as she is the student that we were concerned about several months ago because she had disappeared from class due to depression and was showing signs that have, in the past, led to terrible conclusions with other students.
I almost lept across the room and hugged her when she walked in. (That would not exactly have been culturally appropriate, though.) She seems to be doing good in a general sense, AND if I can judge by nonverbal cues alone, she seemed to be enthusiastically tracking with me as I was sharing the gospel. I didn’t have a chance to thoroughly follow-up with her afterward, though. Please pray that one of us would be able to have such an opportunity soon.
In a few minutes our family is heading to out to go to some common play areas in our city to pray for opportunities to meet spiritually-interested and English-speaking Japanese! (We’ll definitely need prayer for that too.)
