"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." Habakkuk 2:14

I don’t honestly remember whether or not I’ve ever seen a double rainbow, with my own eyes, (Not trying to make a reference to the Youtube video “double rainbow!”) prior to this summer. However, we’ve seen THREE over the last three months. The first two both occurred on the first full day of each of our training sessions at MTI. The second occurred during our first full week of life in Japan. I’m not entirely sure I should read too much into that, but it was super encouraging to think of Isaiah 54:9-10 (and beyond)….

Isa 54:9-10 “This is like the days of Noah to Me: as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you, and will not rebuke you. For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but My steadfast love shall not depart from you, and My covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

There is way more life-changing truth in these verses than I can easily put into words. At the first double rainbow that we saw in Colorado, I had this strong feeling that God was highlighting these verses for me and just confirming that no matter what happens to us, no matter WHAT the future holds….even if all of my worst fears about moving to Japan for ourselves, the ministry, our family, etc. are completely realized….one thing I can know for SURE is that God will never judge my sin again and NEVER condemn me because His wrath has ALREADY been poured out on His Son on my behalf. And even if the mountains depart….His love for me will remain.

It was neat to have this “doubly” confirmed….on three different occasions and each in very special timing.

The view from the kids’ room.
