"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." Habakkuk 2:14

This year I am reading through the “One Year Bible” because I was in need of a little more structure to my personal time in the Word.  This morning I read the story of David and Goliath, which has played a very special role in my heart as the Lord has encouraged me in previous faith adventures in which I felt like I was facing a nine foot giant.  That is no less true in this case, and David’s boldness is just as valid for me as we seek to expand the church of the Living God into enemy territory.

The story reads that David (1Sam.17:50) “triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.”  Why?  David’s own words in verse. 45, “You (Goliath) come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel….”

There is victory over ALL of the opposition we will face in our desire to see the church and the Kingdom of God expand in this nation.

I am claiming these promises as we move forward…
