A couple of weeks ago we had a game night for our English Club and as I was dropping off one of the new students, he asked me if i would be up for getting together with him for conversation practice. He paused for a second and then asked, “How old are you?” I told him “33.” He went on to say that he looked forward to talking to me because I could relate to different areas of his life (he is 32) and that we could talk about more “important” topics. 🙂
So, we met for the first time last week, and in the first half hour we were already into the Bible. I read him one of my favorite verses, in Psalm 50, that says, “Call to Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.” After I gave a brief explanation of what “glorify” means, he paused and said, very solemnly, “This is the first time I have ever read a sentence in this book.” He later said that our conversation was very enlightening and that he was looking forward to hearing more…
