Heb 10:1 For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near.
(The LAW can’t do it! But what CAN?)
Here is the most important answer! Those who have received the offering of Jesus’s body broken and blood spilled for them have already been made perfect. (See also Phil. 3: 15, Heb. 10:10) BUT, there is also a sense in which, practically or experientially, we are not actually perfect. (Phil. 3:12)
So, what motivates us to STRIVE towards “perfection” in this life? (As Paul clearly does in Phil. 3:12-13)
