"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." Habakkuk 2:14

2Pe 1:18-20  we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain.  And we have something more sure, the prophetic word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.

So, if I’m reading this verse correctly, then Peter is saying that the testimony of scripture is MORE certain than his own experience.  That’s pretty significant.  Taking into account Paul’s testimony that “we walk by faith, not by sight,” this makes perfect sense.

Conclusion: if my experience tells me something (or my feelings, etc.) that contradicts scripture – then scripture is correct.
