already dead

Col 3:3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

When I read this verse I also bring to mind Galatians 2:20, where Paul says, “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but CHRIST lives in me,” and I instinctively want to pray out loud and say, “Lord! I WANT that! I want YOU to live in me!” And I also think about all the 1,001 ways that I fail to let Him live in me. But then, I notice that this verse says that this death has ALREADY happened to me. It’s DONE. I’m already dead. And Christ already lives in me! And it’s really more about believing that and then I tap into the power within – the very same power that raised Christ from the dead! (Rom. 8:11)
