2Pe 3:14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, (new heavens and a new earth) be diligent to be found by Him without spot or blemish, and at peace.
This verse stuck out to me this morning. The particular word that jumped out was “diligent.” My being at peace is not something that I should just hope for. I am to be diligent to be at peace. And no matter what is on my plate today, no matter what circumstances or trials, this is possible. Why? Because He tells me to do it. And there are plenty of verses that tell me how to obtain it. (2Peter 1:2, for example) And, according to this verse, I should settle for nothing less.
