"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." Habakkuk 2:14

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine and I were walking into Kroger and saw a couple of young girls selling girl scout cookies with their parents standing back at a distance. They were enthusiastically jumping up and down and yelling, “buy our cookies!” I was a little taken back by their wholeheartedness about it and it left an impression on me.

A couple of nights later I was trying to go to sleep but the image of the girls selling cookies came to mind. The question arose in my heart (from the Lord?) of why they were so happy to be selling cookies. I started wondering about what their motivation might have been, and then another question surfaced. Is my “cause” worth petitioning funds for?

What is my cause?

Answer:  I want the Japanese people to have a greater chance to hear the saving news about Jesus Christ.

Is this worth raising funds for?

My heart felt a little rush of peace as I answered, “ABSOLUTELY.”

Anyway, this little thought has enabled me to gain some momentum in fund-raising and I wanted to share.  The Lord Himself said that “the Harvest is plentiful, BUT the laborers are few.”  I want to be a laborer in the Lord’s field.  And there is a great need.

That is indeed worth raising funds for.
