Hab 3:2 “O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.”
Recently I have been reading and re-reading the book of Revelation. For most of my life as a believer I have neglected this book. Its contents are difficult to take lightly. I fully believe with my whole heart that the Bible is truly the Word of God. I believe that this book that sits (dusty?) on the shelves of most Americans is 100% the only clear and revealed communication of the Divine Creator to humankind.
With that said, I have to let IT interpret reality to me and I do not presume to place myself as judge over what parts of it are accurate and what parts are not. So, IF I really believe that the book of Revelation, in particular, contains a message that God would want to communicate to humankind, and it is 100% true, then there is absolutely no reason why I can take this particular book lightly.
Most of the book contains events that have not yet been fulfilled.
And if these events are yet to be fulfilled, then I have access to a message that cannot go unspoken. The apostle Paul included this message in his first proclamation to Athens…
Act 17:30-31 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent, because He has fixed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom He has appointed; and of this He has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”
The Lord has fixed a day in which He will judge the world. And the judgment is going to be harsh. And we have access to the news that can save the world from His coming wrath.
Let that sink in for a minute.
